Nigel Havers welcomes sellers of collectibles and curiosities to the Bidding Room's new home in Edinburgh, where they ply their wares to five dealers. First through the doors is Stuart, with a piece of Welsh heritage that he hopes will sit comfortably amongst the dealers. Fellow Welshman and our expert auctioneer Simon is loaded with all the essential knowledge and ready to support Stuart's efforts to drive up the bids. Next in is Nicholas with reggae musician Bob Marley memorabilia. A rare poster was gifted to him by a dear friend, but overwhelmed by the responsibility, Nicholas wants to find a buyer who will be able to take greater care of the artwork. Armed with hammer prices for similar pieces, Nicholas is hoping for big bids - will any of the dealers offer him a price that's music to his ears? Third into the Bidding Room is Margaret. She has uncovered a selection of WWI postcards that were sent to her grandmother with words of love from her grandfather, who was drafted to the Somme. Concerned that the postcards will ultimately find their way into a skip, Margaret would rather move them on to a buyer who will find a good home for them while trying to raise money for the nursing home that cared for her grandfather. Another Margaret is next to arrive, with a piece of golfing history that has been hidden in the loft for decades. Bought at a village auction for a nominal sum, Margaret believes she knows the true worth of the antique gold caddy. The dealers will need to go a fair way if they want to claim it as their own. And finally, with a Bidding Room first, it's Mike. He has parked up his vintage three-wheeler car outside for Simon, Nigel and all the dealers to inspect. Mike is ready to trade in his much-loved sports car for a safari - but will he be able to drive the bids up high enough amongst the dealers to fulfil his holiday ambitions? The dealers today are Ian, Jacqui, Adi, Jo and James.
